SIC Vol. 65 Kamen Rider OOO Tajadol Combo Part 4: Wings and Talons

Moving on to the highlight accessories of the OOO TaJaDol Super Combo set: the Kujyaku Wings and the Condol “Prominence Drop” Legs!

TAJADOL 38

The six sets of wings that come with the set are separate sculpts from one another. Each wing mould is a fixed set of two plumes of feathers, providing the set to be a total of 12 plumes. The vibrant colors used are reminiscent of the Ankh Greed color scheme OR the classic TaToBa color arrangement. The set comes with a separate back piece to attach the wings.

As shown above, the back piece of the figure can be swapped out for the alternate winged version. The peg and socket system was a nice idea, but perhaps a sturdier fit (with more than one peg) would have been preferred, as this particular set suffered from a very lose back piece. The problem was fixed using a piece of soft tissue paper added into the socket to add more friction to the attachment.

The set kindly provides a Tamashii (aka T.M.S.) stand as well with the following items:

Here is the size of the Stand in comparison to S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii Faiz (right) and Garo (left). The stand itself is very sturdy with a ratchetting base joint. The stand also comes with two clip out claws to grip onto the figure. However, I advise that the use of the claws may be risky as many have suffered a broken claw due to the fragility of the piece attached to the end of the neck of the stand (the part that Garo and Faiz are staring at).

TAJADOL 40B

My usual option is to use many craned arms and necks to hold up a figure to compensate for not using the claw. This often leads to some nice dynamic figure poses that would otherwise, literally, fall flat.

Because the feathers are moulded in a transparent plastic, illumination from behind can lead to dramatic light manipulating shots.

Next up are the Condol “Prominence Drop” Legs. Prominence Drop refers to OOO TaJaDol’s finisher move where his legs shift to form Raptor like talons that attack from a sudden aerial drop kick to the enemy. In the S.I.C. version, however, the legs literally morph into monstrous raptor legs.

TAJADOL 44

Swapping the legs is very simple. Gently, pull out the calf from the figure with a slight twisting and pulling motion. It is important to do this very gently, as the knee joint has been reported to crack with too much rough pulling and handling.

Once the peg is free, simply slot in the new calf gently with the revers technique of pushing and twisting with care. (Caution, if the calf does not seem to be fitting in with ease, try using a blow dryer or hot water to soften the socket plastic then try again. Never force your S.I.C.s into risky manipulations). Each calf has a marking under where the knee would be to indicate either right “R” or left “L” leg (the “R” is upside down in the picture above).

The Condol legs are articulated at the ankle and at each of three talons on either foot. The above shows the talons curled in at their extreme.

A combination of the wings and talons completes the “beast” look and is my preferred method of unleashing the Prominence Drop. As you can see, I use a liberal amount of stand necks to hold up this large figure.

If you bought the first SIC OOO release, TaToBa, then you would have the Medajaribur. The pics below are just for fun.
