Conclusion:

Overall, I think the Kikaider release is an ENORMOUS step up from the semi-statue releases of S.I.C. As the first of the line of articulated SICs, Kikaider does a great job without sacrificing the beautiful sculpted details. Thank you, Takeya and Ando, for going against odds to bring SIC into existance!

If you are new to SIC and are more used to the highly articulated figures that SIC is releasing recently, such as the Den-O series to the OOO series, then Kikaider may not be what you are expecting. Its good to keep in mind that Kikaider is articulated, but not by much. It is the great ancestor of what SIC produces today, and thus, has archaic methods of including articulation.

However, if you are a fan of Kikaider and don’t mind him being a simple but stunning display piece, I am sure that you will love this release.

Price point:

I would say that in the current market, this Kikaider set is rarer than a majority of SIC’s regular releases. If I had to set a value on it, I would say it is currently worth about 8000 yen (without shipping) for the average SIC collector or Kikaider fan. I was very lucky to have found mine on ebay, albeit with the extremely damaged box, for total of 90$ (and an in-person pick up to negate the shipping fee).

All in all, I only recommend this figure to the true SIC and Kikaider fans, and would argue that the Kikaider o1 (with Double Machine) and Hakaider (with Bike) releases are at least twice as superior in articulation and regarding gimmicks.

Thanks for reading my review! I hope you liked it and I hope you all keep checking sakodebacle.com for updates and reviews!

See you soon!
