Attack on Titan: The Colossus Titan TAKAYUKI TAKEYA ver. Part 3 Review: Titanic Fun!

Here is a size comparison of the Titan with a few of Takayuki Takeya’s famous works. Please forgive the work in progress Devilman.image 36

Here is another size comparison with some other associated works. That is the SIC Kuuga as the SIC line is what brought in much of the Takeya fandom.image 37

For you Marvel heads out there, here he stands with two giants from the Marvel toy franchise, BAF Sentinel and Marvel Universe Galactus. Oh, and Marvel Select Thanos because… why not.image 38

Here is a comparison with the most heavy item I have, the SIC Hero Saga Vol. III Darkside. image 39

The titan is a great study of musculature. Sure, maybe its not 100% accurate, but it gives me the encouragement to continue studying hard.

Overall, I feel am very satisfied with this purchase. I have been a Takeya fan for quite some time and, to my knowledge, this is one of his largest works. The detail and paint work are far beyond my expectations for something that was mass produced (albeit 500 pieces). If Good Smile Company were to release more statues or figures by Takeya or other famous monster designers, I would not hesitate to order, based on the quality of this statue. My only concerns are the steep price point (70,000 yen for the pre-order), and the minor visible seems where the arms connect into the torso. So, do I recommend this figure? If you can afford it, ABSOLUTELY! Especially if you have a deep appreciation for Takeya’s work. This is definitely a Takeya and Good Smile Company masterpiece.

Thanks for checking out this review, all! I have been away from doing reviews for a long time due to school. But, hopefully I will be able to come back to it when I have more time.

I’ll end with a quote by Mikasa Ackerman that I thought was particularly inspirational.

“The world is a merciless place, but it is also incredibly beautiful”

What do you think of the Titan and/or the review? Do you love it? Do you hate it? Did you want to see an image of a specific part of the Titan? Did you have a recommended theme? Let me know in your comments below and I might be able to take on your request!
